Pathways to Longevity was the theme of a health fair presented on October 19 in Saratoga by Successful Aging Solutions & Community Consulting (SASCC) and West Valley College, offering the diverse crowd fun, education, family-friendly activities and a chance to learn more about community resources for older adults. 天博体育 is a sponsor of the annual SASCC Health Fair, which draws hundreds of people each year.
A new feature this year was a registration drive encouraging adults aged 50 and older to consider exploring new skills and opportunities at West Valley College. Face-painting and bouncy houses kept the kids entertained, while organizations serving older adults and their families offered information and links to local resources.
鈥淲e make it age-friendly because we really believe that all generations need to understand the aging process, so our families are more prepared, not only for our parents and grandparents, but also for ourselves down the line,鈥 says Tylor Taylor, SASCC chief executive officer. 鈥淢ost people prepare for retirement, but not many prepare to get old.鈥
Taylor expressed appreciation for 天博体育鈥檚 support of the event and positive impact in the community.
鈥溙觳┨逵 has made the difference for small organizations like SASCC to be able to carry out our mission,鈥 he says. 鈥淭heir presence in the West Valley in particular has allowed service providers to reach more people and do more good for the community.鈥
